Session 1 Cut Costs

“I find that Darin Persinger is sending a different message then what I’ve heard before. His classes and coaching revolves around what the individual agent’s goals are. It’s not about how much the agent can make and thus how much goes into the broker’s pocket. It’s about the agent themselves. Often managers/brokers push their agents to earn more so they can buy bigger and better things so they can live in excess. Darin’s message is about living in abundance, not excess. 

In Darin’s CEO class, he effectively uses Parkinson’s Law to illustrate that more doesn’t mean better. He promotes simplifying and really focusing on the 20% of things that are important in one’s life. Consequently, one has to determine what’s important to them. 

With that in mind, I came away with practical ideas for cutting costs in Session 1 of the CEO class. Our group discussion gave me valuable insights that I hadn’t thought of in order to cut costs. For example, someone suggested ideas for cost effective monthly mailings. Darin also gave practical tips for cutting personal expenses that will enable our family to save in our personal budget. Some I’ve heard before but others were new to me (like how to watch TV for free).

All the classes I’ve attended that Darin teaches have been valuable. Even if I’ve heard the message before (like Parkinson’s Law), Darin makes it applicable in different settings, thus helping the group understand at a deeper level. This time he used it effectively to illustrate why it’s useful in the cost-cutting arena.
